A Tribute to People of Influence

A TRIBUTE.........
Realising this is against ERR policy, though I wanted to highlight some very special people in my life....
Firstly I wanted to acknowledge one of my closest mates (my brother) who this morning competed in his 4th marathon (distance of 26 miles or 42.2 klms for those playing at home). I was extremely proud beyond belief that my brother defying physical exhaustion completed the 'Perth Marathon' in his personal best time, and before the rain started.....

My brother after just over 7 klms (near the Causeway), thats my bro at the front of the pack with the formidable shadow of your truly and my sis-in-law
Some scenes from the South Perth Foreshore...
My bro at 41.5 klms, with some injuries- he soldiered on powering onto the finish line.....
After the run, showing his injury which he sustained early in the race, stretching out...
Secondly & just as important- The other people quite dear to me which I wanted to honour are my dear parents. John and Kay who leave Perth in a few hours bound for Cambodia, with my aunty Helen.
Ma & Pa hours before departure, and a fairly recent pic of my Aunty Helen (on the right). My Mum's life changing trip takes her into the remote villages and prisons in Cambodia, can be seen on http://www.stiches-of-hope.blogspot.com/

This is my Mum's 6th trip to Cambodia over 3 year span where she mainly teaches sewing so that some may become self sufficient. I am so proud of her making a small difference in another country (step by step), working with other people there like Linda Chisholm's Prison Ministry, & Patrick and Carol Kelly's Ministry, and realising in her mature years that it is certainly the power of one that eventually makes a difference in this world. My Mum & aunty will be gone for 5 weeks and my Dad will be returning after 2 weeks. They will be also catching up briefly with the Lampard's who are working in a Cambodian orphanage.
I want to particulary honour my Dad who has finally stepped clean out of his comfort zone and decided that it is actually time that he sees for himself what my Mum has been up to for the past few years. Good on ya Dad- I'm proud of you for stepping out......
