CRIKEY!

Wow - I always thought this guy Steve Irwin was a bit of a wally. Although I did offer him a little respect due to being a fellow Queenslander and the fact that he does have an action figure made in his image. Gotta respect that!

However, today I am among the many shocked to hear of reports that Steve Irwin has no longer cheated death and has died of a stingray barb to the chest! Brrroooo!!! Full on!

Visit the braking news article at http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=127456

I guess he'd probably rather die no other way... living to the extreme! I feel for the family he's left behind and I can't help but feel a little a little sad that another monumental Aussie icon has left this earth.

As a side little story, I have two dear friends who are identical twin brothers from Texas (Steven & Stanley) and they used to do a brilliant Steve Irwin impersonation with actions and all! One time, during a visit to Australia Zoo on the sunshine coast, we even chased Steve himself on his motorbike as we were just trying to say "G'day!". Security and the Mrs (Terry) didn't like it much though. Needless to say my Mum was no longer a fan, but the twins remained strong followers.

So this little post goes out to all the Steve Irwin's lovers and to his family. Warmest regards from El Rancho! The world of outdoor risk taking won't ever be the same!

P.S. I do not promote the use of Photoshop that distorts the truth... well maybe occasionally...

well one could say that BIG shteve "rode the whale" one time too many!

Pity, the b00f™ will miss watching the crazy bugger trying to stop snakes he is holding up from biting his janglies. My fav was the comodo dragons... "flat out like lizards drinking!"

Yes folks, I was a huge fan of 'Have a look at this one- look at the fangs drippin with venom, so angry at me holdin 'im!!'
I must admit though that it took me a long time to warm to 'The Croc Mans' over zealous descriptions of animals, and his family.... though it took a message from Phil Baker to change me. What a passionate man, and I'm still so suprised he made it this far. I was going to suggest that we have Steve to the next 'The Bloke' night. Raise your glasses, I will toast to an Aussie icon.

funny how life is sooooo bloody fragile.. i mean who woulda expected this passionate man to die before his time (or what we would say was b4 his time).. life is meant to be lived.. and i guess thats what steve did.. he lived it.. its truly a sad day to lose such an icon
