Some more NOLA pics xx

The crew took me out to the local pub / club place called the palms. it was great fun. they've been so amazing to me. totally looking out for me.

'beignets' aka french doughnuts... so good!

OBSESSED with pottery barn!
The New Orlean's Football team made it into the playoffs for the first time in 43 years! majorly big deal! we followed the crowds down to the superdome to take in the vibes.
tail gating...every1 gets together before the game, stocks the back of their trucks with a big tv, eskies, bbqs.. awesome!
Jen came to visit for like a day which was awesome but wish she could have stayed longer. we did a 3 hour city / post katrina tour. quite the eye opener!
its a bit hard to see but in the background are the FEMA trailers that people are being housed in. according to the tour guide, they're making it quite hard to get a trailer. she had been living in her car until recently because she wrote a letter to the president. i just think it's absolutely rediculous that this is a year and a half after the storm and the place is still in such ruin. its like a ghost town in sections. people were evacuated and just never came back. so their houses are left as they were when the strom hit.
the spray painted X's are the codes they used when people searched the houses, its the date searched, the number of people found alive, number found dead etc etc.
look really closely on the buildings for yellow lines. that's the level that the water was at for 2 months. how insane is that. so hard to imagine.
These boats are still in the water like this after a yr and a half. its CRAZY!
pictures do it no justice.
Lovin it!

Gee you really have quite a comprehensive post, suprising how much actually reaches the public through the media about 'Katrina'. I also agree with b00f, didn't take long for the N.Orleans men to start the pursuit...
