Went to Epic Cafe today in West Perth.. and i was some what disappointed
i had expected this amazing food and coffee experience yet found it quite average
dont get me wrong.. the latte art and the general ambience is quite good..
a very funky set up... but the coffee didnt do it for me.. nor did the food
I'm no coffee expert but i know what do or dont like.. so don't take my word 4 it and try it 4 urself
some drive-by shootings

I must say I concur with Serg. Great coffee shop..ambience etc! Didn't like the coffee! Im certainly no expert on the matter..make up your own mind!
Well, in defense of Corey (not that Corey would ask for any defense whatsoever...he's reasonably confident about his coffee), Epic is some of the finest coffee I've tasted in Perth. The ristretto that Corey served up last time i was there was among the finer caffeinated experiences I've had the pleasure of.
Coffee though, isn't dissimilar to art - you can tell me you didn't think it was much chop and I can wax on about it and none of us is any more certain about what is objectively 'good'.
What I do know from Corey is that he has gone to sublime lengths to ensure that his idea of the perfect coffee (or the 'God Shot' as he often calls it) is served up pretty much every time. He's as hard core as I've ever seen with equipment, the finest of beans, the top baristas in the city and an obsession with controlling every variable in the extraction process.
Again - it's your call - but what he most definitely doing is serving up a particular product with fastidious consistency.
there's nothing to defend.. i have not heard any bad reviews on Epic, in fact this is why i went there with an expectation but it just didnt do it for me.. hence the post.. I have no doubt that Corey works hard to perfect his art and what not.. I'm just not buying it.. I really do think people should make up their own minds though.. I'm the last person people should take coffee advice from
