Sisters from different misters...

Katie, myself & Miriam
Here are my two adopted sisters who both live in Karratha, and are visiting during the school holidays. They are actually my first cousins from different sides of the family. The reason they were adopted was to get a better education in NZ & Australia so that they could support the rest of the family back home.
Although Katie was adopted when I was about 8 yrs old & Miri only 4 years ago, I see them as my real sisters. They've come from my home country Samoa where not much english is spoken. So to see them come from the huts they were living in, to going to school, becoming independent & for Katie starting a family, I think is a huge achievement!! You go girlfriends! And judging from the photo, they have truly become westernised now discovering the hair straightener...which I would like back thanks.

Come on Tony, one day you are going to have to introduce her to the rest of your mates....

I think there's a big difference with integrating into society & forgetting where 'they've come from'..which you should probably worry more about. Just don't introduce her to credit & she'll be fine!! :)
