Rock-star anointing confirmed

Hello El Rancho family!! Sorry it's been a while... I've been having A LOT OF FUN and internet cafe's are hard to find in transit.

So now I'm now in Nashville, USA - good times with my dear friends Paul, Maggies & Miller (the immensely cute) - but just arrived in from New York baby!! Always wanted to go there and at this very moment I'm in my new compulsory 'I love NY' cheapo tourist t-shirt!

But a few of you dear friends may know of the mysterious existience of the faux condition I seem to have, called... THE ROCK STAR ANOINTING! Basically without going into detail it's the ability to meet famous people and find myself in senarios only rock stars usually get in. Mostly this condition is a bit of a joke but the whole 4 weeks I've been travelling through London, Paris, Amsterdam there's been no Kate Moss, Brad Pitt, Mick Jager of the Queen to have sighted. Although Karl Lagerfeld was sighted by friends of mine in Paris... to say the least I was starting to doubt my powers... until 2 days ago!

Having just arrived in New York, I decided to have faith in the über cool Wallpaper 24HR guide to New York City, denied the draw of the touristy hot spots and was led to the Meatpackers district on the lower east side of Manhatten. Very cool neighbourhood. i spotted a few pimped up black vans all in a row and their drivers outside them on the curb. I got chatting to these locals (as you do when you're travelling like a loner with no friends) and soon discovered the vans were waiting for the stars of the TRIBECA Film Festival.

I was looking for the Chevy and decided to give chase (Dad joke thanks to Paul Mabury), but instead Benny the crazy-eyed driver from Brooklyn informed me that I could be seeing a Mini... not the car, but MINNIE DRIVER one of my favourite actresses!! He was driving her and was due out of the exclusive unsigned hotel any minute!! "SHUT UP!!!" So I thought it might be worth chatting a little longer about Benny's baseball umpiring and Hose about his Restaurant in Queens.

About 20mins later I gave up waiting for the Minnie to drive past (another Paulsim) and went to have breakfast down the road. After ordering a traditional NY Eggs Benedict, I just felt I had to race down the road and leave Minnie a nice little note with Benny - after all, 'Circle of Friends' was one of my all time favourite films. As I walked away back toward the cafe I felt to turn around and there was Minnie Driver getting in the van!! I ran back and had a lovely chat with her about her Aussie's buddy, her dreamed surfing safari's on the Gold Coast and her new film. What a sweety! She's as lovely as I thought and was happy to have a photo with me.



So there you go... rock star anointing! Just ask my mate Minnie!! And... I'm posted!
