So it seems like Gav's not the only one that's had a good time in Colorado! Ahh the joy I’ve had in this state with the Rahe family (Leah & I went to high school together and missions in China), the Gavin’s (Ciara and I have been best buds since birth) and now more friends and family... they blessa my soul!
I love how outoorsy Colorado is! God’s beautiful creation is totally enjoyed here and I couldn’t wait to get a polar fleece and pretend I was a local... but the accent kind of gave me away... but they love it!!!
Leah (AKA Li-Lo) in red scarf, her friend Andrew who has a talent of opening car doors. A pro at the D.L.L.I. (double-lady-let-in)! 10 points AA! Leah's gorgeous Mum & youngest sis (of 4) Julia.
The almost always adorable Ethan (Ciara & Ian's son) with an amazing vocab for nearly 2.5yrs old. His fave thing is his sharky and his fave saying in the toy section of WALMART: "This is so palatial!"... very smart kid!
It feels like I've totally had 4 seasons on this trip and I even got in a little snow storm at the top of Pike's Peak near Colorado Springs!! Yee haa!! Absolutely beautiful scenery!
Campfires in the back yard roasting 'wieners' and SMORES are a popular treat with the country cousins of Ciara's. SMORES are Crackers with hershey's chocolate melted in with a roasted marshmallow!! YUM!! They even had their very own Duke's of Hazzard bloodhound named Humphrey!
Really can't believe this trip I've been able to play with my friends all over the world! I've felt so spoilt and blessed!
Couldn't leave without a visit to the US Airforce Cadet base. And with my rockstar annointing (and Ciara's All-Security Access pass) we strutted with the cadets!
The base has an amazing Chapel - nothing like I've ever seen and so contemporary for being built in the 60's. Also this art work of the 3 wise men is all out of natural woodgrains representing the flowing fabric -aww man!!!
And when you hear the particular trumpet sounds during the day you drop everything (this one guy even dropped his lunch), salut till it's finished (a few minutes) and then as you were - on your way soldier! Amazing respect!
Ciara (when she's not having babies) works as a handler/trainer for Drug & Attack dogs... despite looking sweet and being a Mommy of 2, she's hard core -you don't want to mess with my friend Ciara and her dog Balu!!
And I love a good flag... or maybe it is just the uniform???
A trip to Colorado ain't complete without a ride in the Rockies... giddee -up! Here's Vicky & I - she likes carrots and long trots in the woods - she hates sheep!
