Best wishes Geoff

Sad news today to hear the Premier Geoff Gallop is resigning due to depression.

Dr Gallop announcing his resignation today

I've got to know Geoff fairly well while I've been at the ABC and I can say it was a real shock to learn he was suffering from depression. Seeing him at the media conference today, he did look a lot thinner that when I last saw him a month ago, and you could tell he has been going through a tough time. It's the first time I've seen him literally shake. It was definitely a tough decision to speak out about his illness - hopefully it encourages others to do the same.

yeah it was sad to watch, but he's obviously a humble man to say exactly what he has. all the best to him in getting well.

This provides a fine opportunity for brycey to step and lead our fine state.

He's currently polling well as top churchnews presenter... and once you reach that highly esteemed position, well obviously anything is possible...

I was shoked for the Premier to suddenly resign.
I was even more shocked and astounded after attending the Planet Shakers night on Thursday. The speaker Reggie Dabbs asked the crowd was was suffering depression- and approx 10 percent raised their hands. I was absolutely astounded that the youth of today are suffering severe depression, where are peoples family and friends (our support network).
